Overview

Frëz Gri̽je Vrët was founded durring the late 12th century in spring of the year 1089, by Femes Dhozarthin. The establishment of Frëz Gri̽je Vrët was only bairly constructed. The sheer number of problems with its founding were enough to make several of the backers funding Frëz Gri̽je Vrët's construction back out of the project. Femes Dhozarthin pushed on reguardles, and Frëz Gri̽je Vrët was finished, but starts off as a terible place to live.

Frëz Gri̽je Vrët was built using the conventions of Wood Elven durring the late 12th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Frëz Gri̽je Vrët is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature waddle and daub construction with good timber frames and a stone foundation protected by thatched or shingled rooves. Most buildings with second floors are built in such a way as to overhang into the streets on the upper floors for more space, as building size seems to be the primary indicator of wealth within the community. Most buildings are not decorated with any integral features, but instead use ivy, flowers, and other natural elements in planters of on trellices to breathe life into the structure they grow upon.

Frëz Gri̽je Vrët is buildings have been located at convienant points along the cliff Frëz Gri̽je Vrët was built upon. Navigating the town is therefore a little chalanging as the distance between buildings verris greatly and the narrow cobblestone streets flow where they are able to be made rather than folowing the most convienant paths. The town is the proud owner of a thick set of fortified walls fashioned from querried stone blocks. While not up to snuff for a fort or castle wall, the town's walls are naturaly much larger than those of forts or castles. Therefore, the construction such a wall is most expencive. Frëz Gri̽je Vrët's buget focused wall would serve its community well in battle in spite of looking unimpressive compared to castles and fortresses. The town's top tier civilian fortifications are visibly old, but also obviously maintained semi-regularly. Its likly the local malishia or garrison are tasked with ocasional mantance of the towns defences.

A look around Frëz Gri̽je Vrët has something terribly wrong with it. It’s impossible to put one’s finger on, but something is horribly wrong. Maybe it’s the way fog blankets the ground, but only in the connors of places. Maybe it’s the vermin scuttling between shadows in the corner of your eyes. Perhaps it’s the overcast sky which seemed to creep out of nowhere, or the distant howling of wolves. Maybe it’s all of those things together, or perhaps it's the way these elements combine which makes you worry someone might stab you in a dark ally for your boots. It’s not filthy, or dark, but the smiles seem strained, the locals seem to glare daggers in eachothers backs a little too much, and everyone is armed at all times. You may want to keep an eye on your valuables, and make sure you don’t wind up in any position of power. Regardless, you do not feel it would be wise to remain in Frëz Gri̽je Vrët long.

History

Frëz Gri̽je Vrët is still bloodied by a recent violent conflict. A crushing bandit raid, a lost siege, getting caught at the periphery of a major battle, or some other calamity has inflicted severe damage on the place. Some communities may suffer a longer-term version of this, their youths lost in a grinding, endless battle against some perpetual threat.

In time immemorial, reportedly some time during the late 2nd century, Frëz Gri̽je Vrët was attacked by soldiers from another nation, with orders to raid Frëz Gri̽je Vrët. The details of the conflict are hazy at best due to many conflicting accounts. What is known is Frëz Gri̽je Vrët lost 271 people, 141 livestock, and 42 buildings. The conflict ended after roughly 206, when members of Frëz Gri̽je Vrët's militia enacted an operation to patrol a specific area to dissuade the enemy from their current activities. The operation was complicated by aggravated civilians, who cause problems for the militia for a host of reasons. The conflict ended with pitched battle between both forces, which ended in defeat for Frëz Gri̽je Vrët's forces. The war is remembered in legend by Frëz Gri̽je Vrët's bards, historians, and legend keepers.
